Coonamble On The Hunt For New Sponsor

THE Coonamble Greyhound Racing Club is on the lookout for a new major sponsor with news the club's two year association with Ladbrokes has drawn to a close.

"On behalf of the Coonamble Club I would like to sincerely thank Ladbrokes for their tremendous support over the past two years, everyone involved with the carnival has been very appreciative of their sponsorship," said carnival spokesperson Kevin Gordon.

Considered the lifeblood of country greyhound racing in NSW, Coonamble's October long weekend carnival has been an institution in the industry for the best part of five decades, with Gordon committed to ensuring the long term sustainability of the carnival remains intact.

"We are on the search for a new major backer and preserve what's been established in recent years," declared Gordon.

"The carnival is not only hugely important to participants but also the local Coonamble community with many of the local businesses relying heavily on revenue generated from the carnival.

"A terrific schedule of racing has been put together in recent years and we're committed to that remaining, not only this year but into the future as well."

Gordon has called on any prospective sponsors to contact himself, confident the club can package up an attractive proposal for interested parties.

"Ultimately it's about supporting grass roots racing, and I'm sure that resonates with a lot of businesses and individuals out there," said Gordon.

"We've got a host of terrific sponsors on board already but we're now on the lookout for a new major backer. Hopefully we can find the right fit sooner rather than later so that planning for this year can commence."
