VICTORIAN star Deliver did exactly that in Saturday night's Group 1 Vic Peters Classic Final at Wentworth Park (520m), landing the time-honoured age-restricted feature in blistering fashion.

A drifting second favourite for an absorbing Group 1 clash, Deliver, a son of Fernando Bale and Veetee Sarah, was simply brilliant in the $75,000 to-the-winner feature, railing underneath leader Tap Out Dusty off the top turn to streak away for victory by 4 ¼ lengths in a slick 29.90.

Rank outsider Ouzo finished second for Kayla-jane Coleman 4 ¼ lengths away while early leader Tap Out Dusty stuck on for third, a further five lengths astern.

But all the plaudits were with the winner Deliver for Jason and Seona Thompson who was handled by caretaker trainer Jason Mackay, continuing the successful combination of the two and their cross-border raids.

On a night of terrific racing, leading NSW stayer Poco Dorado made a successful return to sprint racing, coming with a withering run down the outside to score by an ever extending 3 ¼ lengths in a sharp 29.98.

Earlier in the evening litter-brother Blue Moon Rising made a successful distance debut, leading all-the-way by eight lengths in a sizzling 42.25.

Winner at 13 of his 49 starts, Blue Moon Rising (Fernando Bale x Chica Destacada) has largely sat in the shadow of his more decorated littermates, but on the strength of Saturday night's dynamic distance debut, a bright future seemingly awaits as he continues on his promising distance campaign.
