Hasten Slowly's Sights Set On Silver Bullet

GROUP performed star Hasten Slowly has an opportunity to turn the tables on his more fancied rivals in Monday night's Group 3 RSN Silver Bullet (525m) after drawing the coveted red box in the $25,000-to-the-winner final.

The son of Fernando Bale and Heidi Go Seek took out the Group 3 Flying Amy Classic in June, but has since finished second in three Group 1 events, adding to his runner's up finish in the Group 1 Australian Cup in March – The Meadows' flagship event.  Podium finishes for the black chaser certainly haven't been harsh on his prizemoney total, eclipsing the $300,000 mark after his gutsy second behind Poke The Bear in last week's Group 1 TAB Topgun.

The black chaser – trained by highly respected conditioner Angela Langton – has a terrific record off box one, winning three and placing in another two from five attempts when wearing the red rug in Victoria. His task on Monday won't be easy after an amazing field has been assembled for the one-off final.

The Meadows manager Marg Long was thrilled with the nominations for the Group 3 event.

"It really is like we are running a version of the Topgun for the second week running. The eight finalists have a combined prizemoney total of over $2.3 million, highlighting the depth in this terrific field. We can't wait for Monday."

Australia's premier sprinter Poke The Bear will again start from box six after a stunning Topgun victory last week, while new star Orson Allen will be making his presence felt after a sensational 29.18 at Sandown Park on Thursday night. Throw in Dyna Patty (box eight) and Up Hill Jill (box five) – both Group 1 winners at The Meadows – and you have the makings of a fantastic battle.

The night will also see the running of the Group 1 Hume Cup (600m), where Neo Cleo has been installed as the $3.30 favourite with TAB.
