Mcintosh Warming To Vince Curry Prospects

ADAM Mcintosh reckons a few months ago he would never in his wildest dreams have been looking at his kennel eyeing a $105k payday within 3 days.

BRAY Park trainer Adam Mcintosh reckons a few months ago he would never in his wildest dreams have been looking at his kennel eyeing a $105,000 pay day within three days.

Adam has likely G3 Vince Curry Maiden final (520m) favourite Elisheba at Ipswich on Saturday night.

FIELDS AND FORM IPSWICH SATURDAY

But, on Thursday night at Albion Park, he also has red box runner Inner Tea Cup a strong chance in the Listed Golden Oldies (520m).

“Back in July last year I brought Inner Tea Cup home from Adelaide and retired her,” said Adam.

“She was always going to make a great pet so I left her around home for a few months.

“Then she got a virus and had three more months lazing around doing nothing.”

But Inner Tea Cup (Dyna Villa-Cincinnati Juice), who was bottle fed from a day old, thrived during her break.

“I put her back into work and she has kept winning,” said Adam.

“I actually had three Masters dog to head towards the Golden Oldies and she was third choice, but she has got there and now she has box one and running for $30,000.”

Adam has no doubt his bitch will the final but believes Hearts Colliding, from the two box, will get a dream run behind his bitch.,

“She will need to be a good way in front passing the 600 metre boxes,” he said.

“I think her improvement this time in is because I've put a bit more weight on her.”

Elisheba (My Redeemer-Lilly Sur Seine) has been the Vince Curry series “find”.

She won her heat in 30.49 and then last Saturday night streeted her rivals in 30.41. Both wins were off inside box draws.

“Yes, the seven is not good, and first thing Saturday night I was concerned,” said Adam.

“But, the more I look at the race, the more I fancy her chances.

“The three will come out, the five will go in, the four could get cramped up.

“My bitch has her confidence sky high and I would rather she be going into the final off two great wins than not.”

It will be the first Group finalist for Adam and he is looking forward to sharing the thrill with family and close friends.

“Six weeks ago, the Vince Curry was never on the radar for this bitch,” he said.

“But, here we are.”

Adam says he does not know just what the future holds for Elisheba.

“I still don't know what this bitch has in her,” he said.

“She is very strong and if you watch her replays from the two runs at Ipswich, she was still running strong into the catching pen.

“But, she has also never had any experience from a wide draw.

“I think the eight and the two are the knockout dogs in the final.”
