Trained by Warren Nicholls, who lines up Broken Loose from box one in Thursday's Queensland Derby Final, Point Seven was heavily supported late in betting for Sunday's assignment, plummeting from $9.00 to start a $3.70 favourite.

Missing the start by a good three to four lengths, the son of Primo Uno rocketed through the field to score by a widening 4 ¼ lengths at the finish, a remarkable performance over the 331 metre short course journey.

Winner at five of his 24 starts for Nicholls, the in-form trainer will be hoping Sunday's stunning victory carries into Thursday night when Broken Loose takes his place in the $40,000 to-the-winner Derby finale.
