Ageless Invictus Rapid's Grand Form Continues

SEASONED campaigner Invictus Rapid is nearing his 100th start in near career-best form, winning three of the trot in the last month of racing – including two best of night performances.

The son of Cosmic Rumble and Miss Feisty has made 10 Group finals in his career, but has recently hit a purple patch, including wins at Ballarat (25.31), Sandown (29.78) and Horsham (27.32).
Owner George Zogoulas was full of praise of the rising centurion.
"He's been a mighty dog for us. He turned four in February but he is still racing so well. He has taken on the best dogs of his time and its been a huge effort for him to win 37 races. His times of late have been really good, including a 25.62 at Hobart in March which isn't that far off the track record. He ran 24.78 at Ballarat earlier in his career so he certainly has recorded some very fast times along the way. When he is finished he will have a home with us for life and we will use him as a stud dog on a few of our girls as he has such a great temperament."
The black chaser was trained by Jason and Seona Thompson for the majority of his career, and after a stint with Michael Stringer in Tasmania, has settled with Graham James in Woodleigh.
The James family certainly has a handy team of chasers at the moment, with young star So It Goes showing his class in a brilliant 34.04 victory at Sandown Park last Thursday night. The son of Bekim Bale and Paua To Excite turned heads after his brilliant 10.61 run home, suggesting a big future over the half-mile trips could be on the cards.
