SMART And Classy on Monday overcame two checks in running to storm into the Group 2 Bundaberg Cup in two weeks.

The son of Hooked On Scotch-Vince A Bella swept away with Monday's Wildcard (531m) for trainer Tony Apap and owner Cyril Anderson.

The dog scored by six and a half lengths over Dodgy Mick and Paris Will Wait.

Smart And Classy started the $1.30 favourite after having won at Bundaberg in a flying 29.97 the previous week in preparation for his tilt at the $75,000 winner's cheque on offer for the Bundaberg Cup.

The Wildcard win took Smart And Classy's record to 46 starts for 17 wins and 15 placings and earnings of $73,000.

Smart And Classy joined the Apap kennel late last year and his win in the Wildcard was his fourth in succession.

He was checked soon after the start on Monday and again heading towards the back straight.

But, he quickly switched wide and swept around the leaders to go on and score effortlessly.
