BRILLIANT bitch Aston Ajok will go into next Monday night’s Tasmanian Oaks Final (515m) as a raging hot favourite following a slick 29.60 heat win on Monday night.

And the Blake Pursell-trained bitch then cemented her favouritism by drawing the coveted rails alley for the final.

A daughter of Aston Dee Bee and Aston Liesel, she was bred and is raced by Ray Borda.

Aston Ajok has won her past seven at Hobart, Devonport and Launceston and has been beaten only once since moving to Tasmania from from Victoria.

Her record now stands at nine wins from just 19 starts.

Buckle Up Kenzie won the other Oaks heat in 29.80 for Gary Johnson.

Derby heats went to Man Over Board for Paul Hill in 29.60 and Trying Again in 29.87.

The Launceston Club raised $7000 on the night for Tassie charity, Speak Up Stay Chatty, a men’s mental health cause.

Trudy Williams organised the night and the Launceston Club is planning to hold fundraising events each quarter.

The club, in co-operation with TasRacing, also offered a $500 bonus to the charity if any dog won from the four box. Action Plus did so in the last race of the night.

Sires On Ice has sponsored the Oaks final next week and the Derby is sponsored by Tania Rattray MLC.
