The son of Barcia Bale and Destini Gold went through the entire series undefeated after his all-the-way 29.73 win to claim the $100,000-to-the-winner final, recording splits of 5.05 and 17.68 before defeating young South Australian chaser Sennachie and NSW chaser Fantastic Yankee for the 16th victory of his career.

Trained by Brooke Ennis, the blue chaser has had an outstanding two months of racing, winning a Melbourne Cup Prelude in 29.08 at Sandown, the Melbourne Cup Sprint in 29.28 and now his first Group 1 classic. The victory pushed his prizemoney to over $214,000 and his form at the Broadmeadows circuit makes him one of the leading contenders going into next month's Australian Cup Carnival.

Ennis was full of praise for her new star Group 1 winner after his sensational victory.

"On behalf of (husband) Jamie and I, we are really thrilled to win a race like this.We are so proud of ‘Bretty Boy' as he has been brilliant throughout this series. We were certainly happy with the box draw and once again he didn't let us down."

The night also seen a very impressive performance from recent Laurels winner Circle Of Dreams, leading all the way to take out the Damsels Dash in 29.89, winning her sixth race from just nine starts.
