THE Coonamble Greyhound Racing Club has unveiled its eagerly awaited October long weekend racing program.

“The program has come together great; it offers a variety of races for everyone planning on attending the carnival,” said event organiser Kevin Gordon.

“The prize money on offer wouldn't be there if it wasn't for the terrific support from all the sponsors which the club is extremely grateful for.”

The carnival is highlighted by the Betdogs.com.au Gold Maiden (305m) which carries a cool $12,000 to winning connections.

On the back of the program being released is the news that some of Australia's leading studmasters have again thrown their support behind the famous October long weekend carnival as well.

Services to some of the country's best stud dogs will be up for grabs at auction during the calcutta staged at the Coonamble Bowling Club on the Sunday morning of the time-honoured carnival.

"The money raised from the auctioning of these stud dog services goes a long way to ensuring the financial viability of the carnival," added Gordon.

"On behalf of myself and the club we pass on our sincere gratitude to the owners' and studmasters' for their generous support."

Meticulous Lodge have kindly donated services to Fabregas and Orson Allen while Sires On Ice have provided straws for Beast Unleashed, Bewildering, Dyna Double One, Ando's Mac and Zulu Zeus.

"And John Carruthers has provided a service to Magic Sprite and Rob Tyler, who is sponsoring the 700 metre race on the Friday night, has provided a service to Moreira which is greatly appreciated," Gordon added.

With the racing program now released, including details around the first ever Wednesday night meeting, all is in readiness for the countdown to another bumper carnival.

"We have programmed some nice races for the Wednesday night while there will be some positive announcements surrounding the Friday night program in the coming weeks as well," Gordon added.

"Everything is coming together really well. It's not long now!"
