Fabrique's 'Fab' Feature Victory

BRIBIE Island trainer Chris Riordon says whenever the dogs in his kennels start barking, he always knows when Fabrique is among them.

That's because the son of Fabregas-Spirited Flame has a high pitched bark. The loss of a testicle some time ago has caused it, but also a huge improvement in the dog's racetrack form.
That was evident when Fabrique won the 395m $10,000 FFA at Albion Park last Thursday night in a slick 22.52 by three and a quarter lengths over Barra Trip with Farmor Chips in third a length and a half away.|
It was his 17th win in 36 starts.
Fabrique broke in the best of his litter from Riordon's former classy race bitch Spirited Flame.
“He made the final of the Vince Curry Maiden at Ipswich, but by then had started turning sharp right every time he came out of the starting boxes,” said Riordon.
Fabrique's litter brother Fire To Rain won that Group 3 Vince Curry.
“I reckoned the problem with Fabrique was the retained testicle he had so I got it taken out after the Vince Curry,” said Riordon.
“It improved him instantly. He immediately starting jumping well and going straight at the start.”
He won eight of his next 13 starts.
“He's got a few more wins in him yet,” said Riordon. “He's a great railer.”
Fabrique almost broke the Albion Park 331m track record when running 22.36 back in March, just .06 off the record.
