Fast Fury Has Aston Dee Bee Off To A Flyer

17 month old youngster Fast Fury kicked off Aston Dee Bee's stud career in the best possible fashion with victory at Ladbrokes Gardens on Saturday night.

CHAMPION sprinter Aston Dee Bee could not have started his stud career in better fashion after his first starter, Fast Fury, won a 400 metre maiden at Ladbrokes Gardens on Saturday night.

Fast Fury is by Aston Dee Bee from Lay This (Fabregas-Chevy Princess) the dam a winner of just one race in 11 starts but she's a litter sister to Group 1 winner No Donuts.

Fast Fury, which scored by a head over Fab Nikki with She Knows Uno in third, is trained by Denis Berwick at Sawyer's Gully.

The winner is one of five dogs and three bitches whelped by breeder Natina Howard back in October 2018.

Ray Borda, owner and studmaster of Aston Dee Bee, was naturally overjoyed by the successful debut.

“That dog is very young and he looked green still so there should be lots of improvement,” said Ray of Fast Fury.

Borda said the response to Melbourne Cup winner Aston Dee Bee had been staggering with 250 straws sold since his retirement.

“And the response to him has not let up at any stage,” he said.

“There are a lot of his first pups at education now and the reports on them are very, very encouraging.”

Borda said he expected Aston Dee Bee to put his pace into his offspring.

“That is what I breed for, early pace,” he said.

“He certainly is putting great temperament into his pups and I am hearing a lot of them have great fire. They all break themselves in.”

Naturally, Borda has a number of the dog's progeny himself and several are now in training with Jason Thompson, Jason Mackay, the Daillys etc.
