FORM PREVIEW: Thursday Night Racing

While it's been a quiet day on the racing front, Thursday night greyhound racing action is still very much in full swing.

The team at the Greyhound Recorder has picked out the best bets from racing around Australia, along with quaddie selections for the four metropolitan meetings.

SANDOWN – Race 4 (8.04pm) Number 4, AMARILLO HIGHWAY

Resumes from a little break tonight eyeing five wins in a row. One of the most promising youngsters progressing through the Victorian ranks and while he runs into a strong field tonight, has the speed to offset the middle draw and lead. Reportedly in pristine shape for his return from a slight let up.

DAPTO – Race 4 (8.16m) Number 1, ZEST TO EXCEL

Comes into this middle distance affair with the aid of box one in superb form. Three runs back powered home to finish second in the Richmond Oaks before winning at The Gardens and then finishing second in a very strong Maitland race last Thursday. Has raced at Dapto well before and gets a great run from the draw to trail the speed as the checks, Spritely Ebony, is likely to lead.

ALBION PARK – Race 7 (9.19pm) Number 7, MESSY MAN

Very smart youngster in Queensland's number one kennel. Getting $5 about his prospects and that's mainly because he's drawn wide in seven, which won't make things overly easy. Had he drawn 1-2 would have been much shorter. Is in a race devoid of a lot of early speed so given that I'm happy to go his way and back him to find the front.

ANGLE PARK – Race 8 (9.34pm) Number 4, EMERLEY FABBRO

Just the three runners with little separating the trio in betting. No surprise they're all given a chance but for mine I think Emerley Fabbro is going well enough to get away with this. Boasts a fantastic record at the track and distance, is racing near his peak, and looks a great chance of charging to the top early. Expecting a really spirited contest despite the small field.

ALBION PARK – Race 9 (10.03pm) Number 6, NATURALLY GIFTED

She's one of the better each-way bets of the night. Is as honest as the day is long and does her best every time she steps on the track. Has had seven starts at the track for four minors and at around the $7 mark early doors is capable of giving backers a great sight. Box six isn't ideal but she can show good dash and her form lines for this assignment are very good.

SANDOWN PARK – Race 10 (10.10pm) Number 8, RUN BY NIGHT

The wings dominate betting here with two very talented types in Mandalorian and Run By Night clashing. At the better value going with Run By Night at his Victorian debut. Reportedly trialled at Sandown in fast fashion earlier in the week and is suited by the box eight draw. Stack of ability, some of the times he's run in NSW are gob smacking. Meets an exceptional talent here in Mandalorian but he's certainly one himself too and at the price, happy to be in his corner.
