Harada's Excel-lent Response At Stud

MILLION Dollar Chase champ Good Odds Harada has been a busy boy since retiring in November.

The prolific winning group race hero has been serving a steady stream of bitches as his stud journey really begins to take flight following a remarkable racing career.

Boasting 31 race wins and $1.3 million in prizemoney, on the track Good Odds Harada could do it all.

But it's his immaculate bloodlines that's generating just as much hype with breeders, the son of Collision out of champion brood bitch Solar Park, a line responsible for a string of city and group winning performers.

Breeders are raving about the size and quality of his early offspring, throwing big litters early doors.

One breeder that's an unabashed fan about Harada's credentials at stud is successful breeder-trainer Allen Williams who heads up the immaculate Lilley Lodge at Castlereagh.

"I'm a big fan," Williams declared.

"The speed and acceleration he showed with that chase and the bloodlines. Sometimes you need to trust your instinct and gut and I've got a strong feeling he's going to make it."

Such is Williams' confidence he's sent two bitches Good Odds Harada's way in recent times.

"Volt To Excel had seven pups – five dogs and two bitches – and they look sensational," Williams said.

"I'm that happy with them I just sent Fantastic Shelly to him as well.

"The Collision double cross in his pedigree is a real plus for my line."

In the past two years, Williams has guided home 105 winners from 402 starts at the exceptional winning strike-rate of 25 percent.

"I haven't bred a litter for two years so I've thrown my faith into Good Odds Harada," Williams said.

"I've had plenty of success with my stud dog Allkel To Excel so when I back a stud dog I really get behind them."
