‘Hayze' Covers Capalaba Derby and Futurity Heats

LITTERMATES Barty Hayze, Selwood Hayze and Bartel Hayze dominated three of the four heats of the Capalaba Futurity and Derby on Sunday for owners Nathan and Tracey Trigg and trainer Sandra Hunt.

And then two of those, Barty Hayze and Bartel Hayze, drew perfectly for next Sunday's finals.

“It's awesome the way the litter is going,” said Nathan today.

“Batry Hayze is drawn to suit. She can begin and if she can stay clear of any contact she can hold on.

“She is not strong.”

Barty Hayze ran a slick 19.86 to win her Futurity heat as the $1.30 favourite and took her career to 27 starts for 13 wins and nine placings earning $28,000.

Bartel Hayze came up with box six in the Derby final and the Triggs are confident that suits him.

He ran a very fast 19.51 to win his heat by four lengths and has now started 10 times for four wins.

While Selwood Hayze won his heat of the Derby in 19.77, his rails draw does not suit.

“He will want to get to the outside,” said Nathan. “He won't crash across, but will drift over.

“We are really stoked with the way the litter is going and all credit to Sandra and her team.”
