Hush Hush Trial Let Drop Ahead Of Golden Chase

THE name Hush Hush is not lost on owner Kristy Sultana as the dog prepares to take on the first round of the Golden Chase at Ipswich on Saturday.

THE name Hush Hush for the son of Barcia Bale and Mrs Mouse is not lost on owner Kristy Sultana as the dog prepares to take on the first round of the Golden Chase (520m) Auction Series at Ipswich on Saturday night.

Hush Hush is trained by Kristy's dad Sam and in 10 starts he has won four and been placed four times with a 29.83 win at Wentworth Park indicative of his potential.

But, Hush Hush was flown north to be given a “hush hush” trial around Ipswich a week ago under the care of trainer Tony Apap.

And reports are that the dog flew, running 30.17 at his first look at the Ipswich track.

Kristy knows only too well the youngster's ability.

“He is going to get better with age,” said Kristy.

“But, he has enormous ability.

“Dad left him with Tony for the series but if he gets through to the final, will probably go up for that.”

The final is worth $100,000 to the winner.

Kristy bought Hush Hush as a pup from her sister Michelle.

“Brad Canty owned the mum but sold her to Michelle and we bought this bloke as a pup,” said Kristy.

“He had already been paid up for the Auction series.

“His problem at this stage is he is not a good beginner.

“But, if he can land on the fence early he will be very hard to beat.”

Hush Hush has drawn box three in his Golden Chase heat.
