Louis Rumble To Extract Casino Cup Revenge

GIFTED sprinter Louis Rumble will set out for Casino Cup revenge on Friday when the Steve Kavanagh-trained star steps out in the series heats.

2021 Ipswich Cup winner Louis Rumble is back on track with a Casino mission he set out on a year ago.

Steve Kavanagh's star sprinter is on the comeback trail and comes out of the seven in a heat of the Group 2 Casino Cup (484m) on Friday.

He started a $1.85 favourite but missed the start and finished only fifth to Aston Titan in the Cup decider last year.

He had beaten Aston Titan by four lengths leading throughout in the heat in 27.07.

FIELDS AND FORM CASINO FRIDAY

Aston Titan ran 27.63 to win the Cup final.

In the year since, Louis Rumble was a finalist in the G1 Golden Easter Egg behind She's A Pearl, but then tore a hip just prior to the Million Dollar Chase series won by the same greyhound, She's A Pearl.

“I got him over the hip problem, but then he tore a toenail right out in a free gallop,” said Kavanagh.

“Before I knew it, that had turned into six months.

Louis Rumble (Fernando Bale-Joyce Rumble) has raced 57 times for 29 wins, 15 placings and earned $252,000.

“I ended up having to get an operation on the toenail,” said Kavanagh.

“He's OK now but it is yet to be seen if he has come back as good as he was.”

Louis Rumble won first-up at Capalaba late in October in 19.99 and then was a nice second to classy Orara Dan at Grafton beaten three-quarters of a length in 25.32.

“He has always raced well at Casino, but he will need to come out clean,” said Kavanagh.

“The field is strong but that is to be expected in a heat of the Cup.

“There is a strong local representation who all know their way around the track.

“And there is a visitor or two for the series.

“It won't be easy.”

Louis Rumble comes up against Mick Patterson's star Respectability resuming from a spell and his classy litter sister, Fred Swain's Black Magic Rose, as well as his litter brother Street Cry for Mick Lalicz.
