Magri Ushers In Young Team In Remarkable Style

JASON Magri puts it down to having success at something he loves doing.

That's how the Kemps Creek trainers describes 10 of his past 14 runners winning, and 26 of his past 50 doing the same.

And of those, 12 have been placed.

“We've got some nice young dogs coming through their grades at the moment,” said Jason.

“It's a pity they are not all at Wenty.”

Magri has had success with Flying Ricciardo-Sticky Nicky youngsters Where's Florence and Where's Chester both winning at Richmond on Sunday.

Before that he won with Blue Falcon (Sennachie-Gabby Keeping) at Richmond on Friday and littermate Referent at the same venue on July 5.

“They are promising, but I really like Blue Falcon and Zipping Smudge,” he said.

Zipping Smudge (Zipping Garth-Zipping Lena) is unbeaten in three starts.

“He's been running 22.40 and 22.50 at Richmond,” said Jason.

“He had a bit of a setback early days and missed out on going to Wenty for some early trials there.

“He will probably go there on Tuesday night for a trial and we will see what we have with him for the future.”

Magri has 30 in training at Kemps Creek.

Zipping Smudge will not turn two until September, while Blue Falcon will not be two until October.

Blue Falcon comes from a litter of 10, eight of which have won already.
