Meticulous Lodge Branches Out To Tasmania

METICULOUS Lodge is taking the opportunity during the current COVID-19 problems to send semen to Tasmania for the first time.

“We want to feel the water over in Tassie because the breeders there have been so responsive to our team of stud dogs,” said Michelle Westerveld.

“That's why we are first sending semen from Fabregas and Orson Allen.

“It will be available at Brighton Vet Clinic.”

The move to send semen to Tassie follows a number of requests from breeders in that state to have it readily available there.

“We will see how things go with Fabregas and Orson Allen and then consider sending semen for Barcia Bale and Fernando Bale as well,” said Michelle.

“This will be the first time we have done this and it will be very interesting to see how it goes.”

Michelle said with border closures in South Australia and Victoria, breeders in Tassie had been faced with problems getting access to semen and getting bitches inseminated.

“The first semen will go to Tassie within the next couple of weeks,” said Michelle. “Yes, we are testing the waters, but Bright Vet Clinic appears to be the right place to send it.”

Michelle said she and husband Paul had received a request overnight from Camilla Johansson in Sweden about importing semen for Meticulous Lodge stud dogs.

“Camilla has some very good race dogs by Fernando Bale (Galway Girl) and Fabregas (Oh My God) and she wants to keep this going,” said Michelle.

It's very exciting to know our dogs can make such an impact right around the world.”
