Mick's Recall Scratched From Christmas Cheer

MICK'S Recall will come out of the Christmas Cheer at Wentworth Park on Saturday night after sustaining an injury in a gallop this morning.

QUEENSLAND stayer Mick's Recall will come out of the Christmas Cheer (720m) at Wentworth Park on Saturday night after sustaining an injury in a straight track gallop this morning.

The daughter of Dyna Double One and Paul's Memory had drawn box six for her much anticipated Wentworth Park debut.

But trainer Jamie Hosking said today the bitch pulled up sore after this morning's gallop.

“I rang New South Wales trying to pull her out before the draw was done, but it had already been finished,” said Hosking.

“I will get her checked right out later today and see what is exactly wrong.

“It could be a hip support.”

Hosking was disappointed of course but said the bitch had trialled well at Wentworth Park last Wednesday in preparation for Saturday night's race.

“She went post to post in 24.50 but her run home of 11.60, I am told, is really special,” he said.

Mick's Recall has raced only twice over 710m at Albion Park for a 41.87 win on November 26 and then a third to Big Boy Bruce on December 3.
