TAB Million Dollar Chase Gets Underway Next Week

IT feels like just yesterday She's A Pearl roared away for victory in the TAB Million Dollar Chase – the first of two runnings of the event in 2022 after last year was lost to Covid.

So it will come as a surprise to many that the second staging of the world's richest race gets underway in just eight days time with regional qualifiers at Bulli and Gosford on Tuesday week.

Between August 9 and August 29, regional qualifying series' are slated for Bulli, Gosford, Temora, Casino, Gunnedah, The Gardens, Bathurst, Dapto, Wagga, Grafton, Taree, Goulburn, Richmond, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Nowra and Maitland.

That's followed by the last chance saloon to qualify for the semi-finals with city preludes on September 10 before semi-final night on September 16.

Grand final night is programmed for Sydney's Wentworth Park on Saturday, September 24, where along with the TAB Million Dollar Chase, the Sydney Cup, Masters Meteor and MDC Consolation will also be staged.

Not surprisingly, reigning MDC winner She's A Pearl is pre-post favourite for the event with race sponsor TAB, currently at a quote of $4.20.

Victorian superstar Wow She's Fast is on the next line at $9 while exciting prospect French Martini is at $10 to deliver trainer Peter Lagogiane a third MDC title.

Other greyhounds relatively tight in early betting include Good Odds Cash, Amron Boy, Big Opal Rocks, Idolize, Paua Of Buddy and Zipping Maserati.
