THE regional qualifiers of the Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase are in full swing this Friday, with Richmond and Ladbrokes Gardens playing host to their respective finals.

Set to play a leading hand in both finals is top conditioner Jason Mackay, who fresh off his Group 1 triumph in the Dapto Megastar with Zipping Tayla last week, lines up the race favourites for both events, where first and second will progress through to the series' semi-finals at Wentworth Park on Friday, October 12.

At Richmond, Ladbrokes Gardens track record holder Zipping Bailey will take her place from box one as favourite, following last week's eye-catching third placing in the heats behind Fast Car Driving who is a scratching from tonight's final, after qualifying for the next round at Wentworth Park on Saturday night, deeming the star sprinter ineligible.

Zipping Bailey – a daughter of Barcia Bale and Zipping Willow – a sister to last week's Megastar winner Zipping Tayla, is unbeaten from two box one starts and is set to take plenty of beating in the $5,000 to-the-winner final with the aid of the gun alley.

In a race full of quality, local trainer Andrew Crouch takes a two-pronged attack into the feature, with Big Butters and Jamella Jet set to take their place, the latter simply awesome when recording his best of meeting 30.47 heat success last Wednesday week at just start 11.

With the scratching of Fast Car Driving, Zipping Falcon gains a start from box eight for trainer Jason Magri, the Group 1 Peter Mosman Classic runner-up in the race up to his ears on the strength of his recent 30.45 and 30.55 victories at the circuit.

Over at Ladbrokes Gardens, Group 2 Maitland Cup hero Aston Duke has been installed a slender favourite for the trainer and care-taker trainer combination of Seona Thompson and Jason Mackay, just in front of Michelle Sultana's Drink Schooners, the pair hugely impressive winning their respective heats last Friday in 29.33 and 29.45.

In a race where the favoured pair look set to play a major part, other chances include Group 2 Black Top finalist True Talent for Jason Mackay, as well as the very talented Elusive Wave, winner of The Macca on Black Top night for Vic Sultana in a sizzling 29.31.
