LOUIS Rumble backed up a week after winning the Group 2 Ipswich Gold Cup with a near track record 27.07 win on Friday in a heat of the Group 3 Casino Cup.

Steve Kavanagh's son of Fernando Bale-Joyce Rumble was always in front in his heat scoring by almost four lengths over Aston Titan. He started the $1.35 favourite from the two box and was absolutely brilliant.

The Casino 484m track record has been held since 2019 by Fernando Blaster at 26.91 when winning the Casino Cup final.

To show his domination of the series, Louis Rumble's time was many lengths ahead of the other heats winners.

They included multiple Group winner and placed Fire Legend which ran 27.74 to beat Mia Magic, Lucky Lance in 27.55 for Robert Ayres beating Proficiency, and Mitchell Street for Tom Tzouvelis in 27.65 beating Deck Fifty Two.

The box draw for the Cup final will not be done until Monday.

Louis Rumble, who went into the heat on Friday already a feature race winner at Casino, had led throughout to win the Ipswich Cup in a scorching 30.29 last Thursday week.

It was his 22nd win in 40 starts.

The victory by Lucky Lance for Rob Ayres followed the trainer's win on Thursday night with I'm Explosive in the Dapto Middle Distance Championship.
