Pindari Express Reclaims Bulli Record

PINDARI Express reclaimed the Bulli 400m track record with a stunning 21.93 performance on Saturday evening.

Returning from two months on the sidelines for owner/trainer Tracey Scruse, the son of Fabregas and Brook's Doll showed he's right on track for Saturday week's Group 2 Bulli Gold Cup heats (472m) with a remarkable demonstration of his capabilities at the weekend, taking his career record to nine wins from the 12 starts.

A half-brother to Group 1 Melbourne Cup winner Ando's Mac, Pindari Express stamped his mark as a star of the future back in May last year, when on debut at Bulli over the 400m, the regally bred chaser broke the track record, running a staggering 22.18.

Just last week, Darren Sultana's Black Forge lowered that benchmark with a flying 22.16 victory, returning to racing in awesome fashion himself, after suffering a serious injury at Maitland last October.

But with Pindari Express reclaiming the record with Saturday night's extraordinary 21.93 performance, it's now reasonable to expect that time-standard will ‘hold' for some time, given the awesome exploits of the dual record holder, who also holds the Maitland 450-metre mantle at 24.59.

With some hugely talented sprinters hitting their straps at exactly the right time, everything is in readiness for a cracking Group 2 Bulli Gold Cup Series, with heats set down for Saturday, February 16.
