Trainer Jason Thompson has made the call to withdraw the son of Zambora Brockie from the $25,000-to-the-winner event after pulling up injured when second to French Martini in his MDC semi-final last Friday night.
"He pulled up a little tender in a ligament in the hock so he'll come out of the consolation on Saturday night," said trainer Jason Thompson.
"There may have been a slight chance he could have gone around but it's just not worth the risk given the races at the back end of the year we've got earmarked for him."
With the scratching of Plaintiff, the Chris O'Brien-trained Mortified will exit box one for the MDC consolation.

In what is a quality consolation to the world's richest race, Zipping Maserati will exit box six, chasing back-to-back wins in the MDC consolation, after winning the race back in May.
He's set to be a major player in the event as is WA star Panama Pepper which ran a sensational race behind fastest qualifier Gatlin in his MDC semi-final last Friday night.
