The classy son of Oaks Road and Amyjo was the subject of heavy support in the lead up to the $25,000 to-the-winner finale from his ideal box eight draw.

And after rushing to the front heading into the first corner punters were on good terms with themselves, the talented conveyance staving off a late challenge from race favourite Chrissie Banner to score by a neck in 30.14.

Sid Core finished a gallant third for Lee Rodgers another half-length away.

Rapallo's Young Star triumph was just rewards for owner-breeder Peter Spiteri who is enjoying immense success with his fabulous Oaks Road x Amyjo litter.

The progeny have collectively won 34 of their 111 starts.

Included in the progeny is immensely talented unbeaten sprinter Serious Object, winning each of his five career starts for trainer Jodie Lord.

Earlier on Friday night's program the Luke Adams-trained Zipping Moose powered home to take out the TAB Million Dollar Chase Maiden Final (520m).

The son of Aston Dee Bee finished with a wet sail to land the $25,000 first prize, defeating Crispy Chicken and Aussie Swiper in the drive to the line.

Zipping Moose collected the $15,000 first prize for connections in 30.21 with the winning performance suggesting he's on the cusp of a very bright career.
