Rookie Rebel Winner Produces First Litter

FATHER and son team Alan and Brett Hunter are handing out cigars after their Group 1 winner Fernando Cazz whelped her first litter of pups.

FATHER and son team Alan and Brett Hunter are handing out cigars today after their Group 1 winning bitch Fernando Cazz whelped her first litter of pups.

The daughter of Fernando Bale-Naughty Cazza whelped six dogs and three bitches to Barcia Bale on Melbourne Cup day, November 1.

But don't bother trying to buy any of the pups.

They are already all accounted for.

Fernando Cazz won the G1 Rookie Rebel and the Maidment Memorial, was second in the G1 Association Cup and won 12 of her 43 starts and $145,000 for trainer Kayla Cottrell.

She was from a fabulous litter which also included Fernando Bluey winner of the Australian Sprint, but a great second in the G1 Australian Cup and a finalist in the G1 Harrison Dawson.

“We are very excited about the litter,” said Alan.

“She was a special race bitch for us and we have high hopes for this litter.”

Fernando Cazz is bred on the hugely successful Fernando Bale/Fabregas “nick”.

Putting her to Barcia Bale was an obvious choice considering the cross is already proven with Fernando Bale bitches, and vice versa.
