She's A Star By Name And By Nature

THE name She’s A Star brings with it inherent expectation and the talented juvenile will look to continue her rapid rise on Saturday night.

The name She's A Star brings with it inherent expectation.

And at Wentworth Park on Saturday night the exciting juvenile will be striving to live up to her lofty name when she steps out in the opening event with undeniable claims.

Prepared by Austral trainer Wayne Meilak, She's A Star has launched her career in a flurry, boasting three wins and two seconds from five appearances at Bulli and Wentworth Park.

"She showed us ability right from the start and is heading in the right direction but she's still got a long way to go," Meilak said.

"Last week she was pretty unlucky to finish second (to Ritza Natalie). In the run she lost more than a length and that's all she was beaten.

FIELDS AND FORM WENTWORTH PARK SATURDAY NIGHT

"Actually you could argue she should be unbeaten. She's always giving all she's got."

An ultra-impressive 30.02 Wentworth Park winner on debut at Wentworth Park in late July, She's A Star will exit box six for the second straight week on Saturday, set to be again well supported in betting given her dashing recent form.

Overseeing a small team at his Austral base, Meilak admits to having a spring in his step about the prodigious talent, which he owns in partnership with good mates Jimmy and Mark Field.

"We bought her and her brother as pups of George Farrugia and so far it's worked out great," Meilak said.

"When she was first getting ready to race she came in season so we decided to put her away and let her have time to mature.

"I think down the track that'll be to her advantage. When she won the first night at Wentworth Park it was her first ever 500m run.

"From here she's only going to get stronger and with five or six more runs I'm looking forward to seeing what she can do."

In an intriguing opening race, She's A Star takes on hugely talented chaser Leg Speed which has posted near record wins at Dapto, but is yet to fire at Wentworth Park in nine appearances.
