Showpiece The Best Of Jedda's Creek Blitz

PREMIER trainer Jedda Cutlack heads to Albion Park on Thursday with 10 runners, most with strong chances, but she's keen on one in particular.

PREMIER young trainer Jedda Cutlack heads to Albion Park on Thursday night with 10 runners, most with strong chances, but she plumps for in-form Showpiece as her best of the night.

Showpiece (Konomi-Sherbini) has drawn the rails in a 520m 5th Grade final and comes up against a tough field.

“She is probably our best for the night,” Cutlack said.

“Her run to win a heat last week and beat Cluster in 30.12 was very good. In fact, it was a huge run.

“I'm most excited to see how she goes.”

Showpiece is the winner of nine of her 20 starts but won two in a row at Ipswich including a 30.37 before coming to town for her slick effort to win last Thursday night.

Cutlack also has Caramel Queen in that final and believes while she is in fine form of late, she is not boxed well enough against a field full of early pace.

“The draw is no help for her, but she is very consistent,” she said.

Of her other runners, Cutlack believes she has strong chances in a number of races.

“Lightning Buzz and Tagovailoa are in the Novice and both are young and green,” she said.

“Lightning Buzz is probably the better chance because Tagovailoa is not well boxed out wide. “Lightning Buzz is consistent out of the boxes.”

She rates Lily Monelli a place chance in a heat of the 5th Grade (600m).

“She's getting on and that is a very tough race,” Cutlack said.

Sherwood takes on a slick field in a 520m 5th Grade and has drawn the five.

“He is a nice dog but he has got to begin to be in that race with a chance and in his last couple of starts he has missed his jump,” she said.

He takes on classy Icy Eyes, in-form Excessive, the speedy Balmy Nights from the John Mccarthy team, and Cyndie's Cyndie who was a Listed winner two starts back.

Sherwood is also reserve for the 5th Grade final.

Veteran, Tungsten Miss, is marking time to retirement but runs out of box three in a 4th-5th Grade (520m).

“What a great bitch she has been for us,” Cutlack said.

“But, she's not getting any younger and would need to lead and get a good break on them to win.

“Her racing career is week to week these days before she goes to stud.

“There is lots of class and lots of pace in her race.”

She's Some Fox returns to Albion Park after some time and she has drawn the two in a 520m 5th Grade.

“Her form has been very consistent, but she hasn't raced at Albion Park for a while,” Cutlack said.

“If she begins, she will be hard to beat.

“She's drawn very, very well.”

To give the kennel an even greater presence, Tom Tzouvelis also has three runners from the Park Ridge base, Valhalla, Jimmy Intention and Amendola all in heats of the 600m 5th Grade.
