PERTH CUP & GALAXY FIELDS HERE

In what promises to be a mouthwatering clash to kick off a fantastic card of racing, Simon Told Helen takes on star local West On Augie, the 2018 group 1 National Sprint winner eyeing off a remarkable third straight Perth Cup berth.

Heat two on Saturday night sees pre-post series favourite Campini take his place for Paul Stuart, the 19-time winner chasing another Perth Cup tilt after finishing fourth last year behind Orson Allen.

The third qualifier sees star youngster Tommy Shelby continue his upward rise from box five, while in heat four, reigning Group 1 National Sprint champion Premium Share returns to racing for the first time since injuring himself in a semi-final of the Million Dollar Chase last October.

As well as six heats of the $150,000 to-the-winner Perth Cup series, three heats of the Group 1 Galaxy (715m) for the stayers are also up for decision.

With a cool $100,000 awaiting winning connections, all eyes in the first heat will be on Group 1 Fanta Bale Super Stayers winner Here's Tears for Rob Britton, the son of Fernando Bale taking on Boom Down, returning to Cannington where he's won nine of his 12 appearances.

Heat two sees multiple group winner True Detective up against recent revelation Blue Summer Sky for Paul Stuart, while the third heat sees Blazing Cartier tackle last year's Galaxy winner Rockstar Patriot, another Paul Stuart trained runner.
