Simon Told Helen Shoots To Melbourne Cup Favouritism

SPRINTING superstar Simon Told Helen has shot to Melbourne Cup favouritism following the completion of the all important box draw on Sunday morning.

The four-time group 1 winner has drawn ideally in box two for next Friday night's $435,000-to-the-winner decider while some of his more fancied rivals had far less to crow about following the draw which was aired live on dedicated greyhound program ‘Thrill of the Chase'.

Correy Grenfell's quest for a group 1 breakthrough with his fastest qualifier Tiggerlong Tonk were dealt no favours, the son of Dyna Double One drawing out in box eight.

Winner of his heat on Friday night in a dashing 29.16 following on from his slashing Group 3 Shootout triumph, Tiggerlong Tonk's connections were praying for an inside draw with their gun sprinter but will instead need to overcome box eight to claim “the world's greatest race”.

Another dealt no kindness at the box draw was WA megastar Tommy Shelby which will negotiate box six following his superb 29.21 heat romp, while reigning Topgun hero Shima Shine, pre-post favourite for the Cup, will exit box seven.

Powerhouse chaser Hard Style Rico will exit box five for trainer Luckie Karabitsakos while the prized rails alley went the way of Zipping Sullivan for a clearly emotional Deb Coleman.

Rounding out the draw were Tough Tears (box three) and Lucy's Milo (box four) – the duo set to go around at monster odds for the showpiece finale following their big price heat wins on Friday night.

Following Sunday's box draw Tab.com.au have installed Simon Told Helen a $2.50 to land Friday night's Melbourne Cup and in doing so a fifth group 1 success.

Second favourite is Shima Shine at $3.50 from box seven while Tiggerlong Tonk has drifted out to $4.00 after drawing box eight.

Silver Bullet winner Hard Style Rico is quoted a $6.00 chance while a horror box six draw has seen Tommy Shelby drift out to $7.00.
