Top Bets Wentworth Park Saturday June 12

QUITE a few odds-on favourites on Saturday night's 10-race Wentworth Park card which on the main do look hard to beat.

One of the real highlights is race seven where Sunburnt Highway is eyeing a 30th Wentworth Park victory, edging ever so close to Bessy Boo's all-time record of 34 successes.

RACE 1 Number 1 ZIPPING DEMAND ($2.60)

They reckon race one box one invariably comes up shorter than you expect so the $2.60 on offer currently appears good shopping to me. Winner at five of his eight starts and returns to an inside draw which is really important for this fella.

Expect he takes plenty of beating albeit in a strong fifth grade assignment.

Race 3 Number 5 – BRUCE MICK GLENN ($1.80)

Betting suggests it's a two-dog battle between Bruce Mick Glenn and White Ticket and I agree. Really keen on the favourite at around the $1.80 mark though.

Made his WPK debut off some slashing provincial form last week when finishing fourth where not a lot went right. Will be better for the experience and don't mind the middle draw either. 

Race 8 Number 3 – OPAL ROCKS ($2.70)

Dapto 600 metre record holder which has run a blinding 29.63 here previously. Finished third here last start after a few weeks off where not a lot went right and expecting she'll be a lot better for the hit-out.

Interestingly, the three key chances in betting are all strong at the finish, so if our tip can land handy from the draw, it might be enough to grab the prize.

Race 10 Number 6 CHASE ME HONEY ($3.50)

Two chances in the last, Cawbourne Turvey and our value tip Chase Me Honey.

Expected they'd be closer in the market so happy to lean the way of Chase Me Honey for Mick Hardman. Looks the leader and the vacant box inside her is an advantage to that cause.

The favourite will be flooding home but the way they're boxed she could find some bother early which is hardly ideal at $1.40.
