Thursday Night Racing Form Preview

The Recorder's Thursday night form preview covering the Dapto Final of the Million Dollar Chase, as well as heats of the SA Derby & Oaks.

The regional finals of the TAB Million Dollar Chase continue tonight with Dapto playing host to a star studded final where the favourite is Cawbourne Marty, his slashing 29.80 heat win last week making it a neat six from six at the track.

It's also a big night of racing out of Angle Park with heats of the Group 3 SA Derby and SA Oaks set down for decision … so let's get stuck into the form and find some winners.

NOTE: Times are listed in Australian Eastern time.

ANGLE PARK – Race 3 (7.58pm) Number 6, MISTER HARLEWOOD

Really keen on the talented Victorian Mister Harlewood getting our night off to a winning note at around the $2.00 mark. Boasting loads of ability, this proven group race performer looks well placed in this SA Derby heat tonight. Can run scorching times and at his best has a class edge on his opposition. Don't mind the draw either, especially with the vacant draw to his inside. Tough to beat.

ALBION PARK – Race 5 (8.10pm) Number 1, MAC ROAMIN'

Powerhouse chaser that takes his place in this 600m FFA from box one, a draw he's won from on five of six occasions. Has a huge motor and is one of those dogs that the better opposition the better he goes. Runs into a strong field but with the benefit of the inside off two brilliant recent wins, very confident he continues on his winning way.

DAPTO – Race 5 (8.49pm) Number 8, GOOD ODDS MEGHAN

Market rightfully has this a two-dog race between six and eight where I'm very keen on the latter, Good Odds Meghan. Suited from box eight, can post dazzling sectionals, and now five runs back from a break I expect she'll give this a big shake from the suitable box eight draw. From a sensational litter and her best attribute is her early toe, will give them something to catch!

ANGLE PARK– Race 6 (9.08pm) Number 6, CURT LEE

You could almost set your watch by this fella and I'm very bullish about his chances at his Angle Park debut in this heat of the SA Derby. Is one of the best and most reliable beginners in training, winning 14 of his 23 starts. Has been mixing it in far stronger company than what he meets tonight and no surprise to see him one of the major chances in series betting. Tackles in-form fellow Victorian Cappy Morgan here who won't be easy to knock over, but suspect Curt Lee finds the top early and proves hard to catch.

DAPTO – Race 8 (9.55pm) Number 4, GOOD ODDS NUTTY

Race with good early speed but if Good Odds Nutty runs the 5.39 to the mark he did when scoring here in July, expect he gets away with this at around the $2.50 mark. Recent form has been a little indifferent but they've either been at unsuitable distances or in stronger grades. Gets a fair bit in his favour tonight and a proven performer at the track, he's set to give backers a great sight.

** LAY **: DAPTO – Race 8 (9.55pm) Number 1, ARIA'S THE ONE

Very capable bitch but with a heap of speed drawn to her outside here I'm worried where she lands in the run. Does like to use a bit of the track so at the $2.50 tonight the concern is she gets cluttered early and put out of play. Happy to let go tonight.

BEST VALUE: SANDOWN PARK – Race 7 (8.13pm) Number 4, STRIKING SUCCESS
