Multiple Group 1 Winner's Career In Doubt

MULTIPLE Group 1 winner Stagger Out Lee tore her back muscle at Wentworth Park on Saturday night and her immediate race career is in doubt.

MULTIPLE Group 1 winner Stagger Out Lee tore her back muscle at Wentworth Park on Saturday night and her immediate racing career is in doubt.

Trainer Jack Strutt confirmed the My Bro Fabio-Parrydise Star bitch appeared to suffer the injury on the first lap of Saturday night's distance event won by Zipping Orlando.

“She went another lap with the injury,” said Jack.

Jack believes the bitch is about to come on season as well but he and his dad Paul, who owns the bitch, will not be tempted to breed with her – yet.

“We will give her plenty of time to get right and endeavour to get her back to the track,” said Jack.

“There is plenty of time to mate her this time next year.”

But Jack is adamant she will not return to the track unless she is showing her Group 1 class ability.

“She is Free For All everywhere she goes,” said Jack.

“And she has made Group finals in every state.”

Stagger Out Lee won the Group 1 Bold Trease and Zoom Top in her 13 wins in 63 starts for $307,000.

But she has also been third in the G1 Super Stayers and G3 Xmas Cheer, and a finalist in the G1 WA Galaxy, G2 Summer Distance Plate and G3 Albion Park Gold Cup.

“The back muscle injury is pretty bad,” said Jack.
