A Star Is Born! Unison's Stocks On The Rise

UNISON confirmed himself a bona fide star of the future with a scintillating 26.02 victory in the final race on the program at Bulli on Saturday night.

BRILLIANT youngster Unison confirmed himself a bona fide star of the future with a scintillating 26.02 victory in the final race on the program at Bulli on Saturday night.

Trained by Michelle Sultana, the son of Sh Avatar and Silver Bullet peeled off electrifying sectionals (9.89,19.50) before stopping the clock in near sub-26 fashion, the slickest time on a star-studded program.

Adding even further merit to the performance was the quality of chasers engaged on the night.

In the fast class event, Ebby Infrared rolled Good Odds Harada in 26.09, while local star Here Comes Joe scored emphatically in 26.19.

But that was before Unison set the track alight to win the last race in tremendous style and continue his sharp rise to stardom for trainer Michelle Sultana.

"He's absolutely thriving," declared Sultana on Sunday.

"Early on he was a bit immature and over the top but he's settled right down now and takes everything in his stride. Even being in late races isn't a problem.

"The best thing about last night was that the run home was there as well as the first two sections. He's showing he can do it at both ends and keeps improving which is what you want to see from the young ones."

From the hugely promising Sh Avatar x Silver Bullet litter, winner at 24 of their 59 career starts, Unison's upward rise in recent weeks has been nothing short of remarkable.

After beginning his career under the tutelage of owner Chris Brydon, Unison transferred to Sultana's kennels in mid-February, stepping out on seven occasions for five wins and two placings.

A 22.05 400 metre winner at Maitland in March, the February 2018 whelp's recent Bulli form has seen him finish a whisker second to Nangar Rust at his 472 metre debut, before reeling off stunning 26.20 and 26.02 victories the past fortnight.

"I'll have to start looking to see what feature events are around for him," Sultana added.

"There might be some races in Queensland coming up over their carnival that are an option for him as well."
