QUEENSLAND group star Wise Misty has whelped one of the first litters sired by champion sprinter Sennachie.

The daughter of Paw Licking and Wise Forecast produced five dogs and three bitches to the mating.

The “match made in heaven” is between Group 1 champ Sennachie and Wise Misty, winner of the Group 3 Ipswich Gold Cup as well as a hotly contested Young Guns Final at the track.

During her fabulous career she was also placed in a Group 2 Queensland Futurity.

In 71 race starts, Wise Misty won 33 times and was placed on another 17 occasions for $239,000 in stakes.

She was raced and trained by Craig Hazelgrove whose mother Noela gave Craig the bitch as a birthday present.

Craig reports he is unlikely to sell any of the pups.

Wise Misty came from a fabulous litter which also included Illawong Cowgirl (11 wins), Miss Amelia (17 wins), Noela's Boy (18 wins), Satin Lustre (7 wins) and Short Session (20 wins).

A repeat of the Paw Licking-Wise Forecast mating has produced NZ Group 1 finalist Mustang Tully (28 wins, $62,000).

MARY Burman reckons she might have gone against tradition by selling two blue bitches to a Victorian buyer from the immaculately bred Out Of Range x Champagne Sally litter that is now five months old.

"All my good bitches have been blue, Champagne Sally herself, Magic Hornet, Bizarre Barbie, Blue Diva, Dynamite Lucy," said Mary.

"But, this time we kept all the brindles."

Champagne Sally, winner of 27 races and $234,000 in stakes, holds the track record at Albion Park for 600m, and the track records for 520m and 630m at Ipswich.

She won the G2 Topgun Stayers and the Winter Chase, was third in the G1 Zoom Top and a finalist in the G1 Bold Trease.

"Like everyone who rears pups, we like these very much," said Mary.

"But, I will reserve my judgement until we put a clock on them."

Champagne Sally produced 11 pups, four dogs and seven bitches to her mating to multiple G1 winner Out Of Range.

The Burmans will likely let Champagne Sally miss the next time she comes on season.

"We just have too many pups on our hands at the moment," she said.
