Youngster Burns On Debut At Sandown

ROYALLY bred chaser Often Imitated lived up to her pedigree on debut at Sandown Park on Sunday afternoon.

ROYALLY bred chaser Often Imitated certainly lived up to her pedigree after an outstanding 29.49 win on debut at Sandown Park on Sunday afternoon.

The daughter of highly successful U.S. sire KC And All and champion stayer Sweet It Is speared out of the traps from box seven, recording a fast split of 5.06 and an equally impressive 18.80 second sectional before recording an eight-length win in the fastest of the three maiden heats.

The win came less than 24 hours after her litter brother Aston Kimetto made it two wins from as many starts at The Meadows, storming to a 30.01 Maiden final victory, again highlighting his strength with an impressive run home time of 11.91.

Others to impress at Sandown during Sunday's maiden heats included debutant Blue Shadows, who led from go to whoa to score in a fast 29.58. Anakie trainers Angela Langton and Jeff Britton combined for a double when Axel Footluce (Kinloch Brae – Footluce Diva) also scored on debut, stopping the clock at 29.78.

Often Imitated will start a short-priced favourite after drawing box one in Thursday's final.
